Greetings, Pirate Nation,
We have been monitoring the weather and road conditions continually since this cold front has hit. In the interest of safety for all Priddy Pirates, we have made the decision to close school on Monday, January 26, 2026. I want you to know that we do not make decisions such as these lightly, but with much thought and collaboration.
We will continue to monitor the situation and make a decision concerning Tuesday as soon as we are able. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety of students, staff, and families.
Please stay safe and warm during this weather event, we look forward to seeing you soon.
Warmest regards,
David Coker

Please help us celebrate Coach Shayla Martinez, our Priddy ISD Teacher of the Month!
Coach Martinez wears many hats on our campus—and she wears them all exceptionally well. She teaches secondary math, serves as our Head Girls Basketball Coach, Assistant Track Coach, and Assistant Powerlifting Coach, and does it all with passion, energy, and heart.
It’s not uncommon to see Coach Martinez behind the wheel of a school bus, making sure her athletes get safely to and from games. That kind of dedication speaks volumes about who she is and how deeply she cares about her students.
In the classroom, her pedagogical practices in math are outstanding. She engages students, challenges them to think critically, and ensures learning is meaningful and relevant. With six years of experience in education, Coach Martinez has already made a powerful impact on our students and school culture.
We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the Priddy Pirate Family. 💙🏴☠️
Congratulations, Coach Martinez—we love and appreciate all that you do!
