Subject: A Message from Your Priddy ISD Leadership Team

Greetings, Pirate F.A.M.I.L.Y.,

As your new administrative team, we want to take a moment to connect with you and share some important news about our school district. This morning, the state will release official ratings for districts across Texas. These ratings reflect academic performance data from this past school year, as well as the ratings for the 2023-2024 school year. Because of a lawsuit over the A–F accountability system, 2024 ratings were not issued at the time; they will now be released alongside the 2025 ratings.

We want to be upfront with you—our district’s ratings this year may not reflect the high expectations we have for ourselves or what our community is accustomed to seeing. While these results are not where we want them to be, they come as no surprise to us. We have been closely reviewing the data and preparing to address the challenges they highlight.

In fact, we’ve already taken significant steps to strengthen teaching and learning across the district. These include:

  • Moving to a nine-week grading period

  • Implementing curriculum-based assessments

  • Providing targeted instructional interventions

  • Increasing teacher support and resources

  • Ensuring curriculum is fully aligned to TEKS, both horizontally and vertically

  • Adding strategic interventions to meet student needs

We are confident these measures will lead to steady, meaningful progress and help us restore the academic excellence our Pirate Nation is known for. Our commitment is to be transparent about our progress, to listen to our community, and to keep working together toward the goals we all share for our students.

We know the success of Priddy ISD depends on the strength of the partnership between school and community—and we are grateful to have such a dedicated Pirate F.A.M.I.L.Y. behind us. Together, we will set our sails in the right direction and move forward toward the bright future our students deserve.

If you have any questions or would like to visit with us directly, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us. We are here for you, for our students, and for the entire Priddy ISD family.

With gratitude and determination,

David Coker
