September Newsletter



School will release at 1:00pm on Wed., Sept. 25, for the cross country meet that we host. Buses will run at that time. The meet will be held at the Melody Oaks Ranch, just outside of Priddy, about a mile north of the school. Elementary students are invited to come for the fun run at 3:40, but the school is not providing transportation there for them. Everyone is invited to come cheer on our teams.

In the 86th Legislature, HB 3884 required DSHS to create procedures for school districts to provide information relating to bacterial meningitis to students and parents. Family, Friends, and Community of Priddy ISD

For our school to operate effectively, it is crucial that we have a daily attendance of at least 90 students. Our current enrollment of students counting towards our Average Daily Attendance is 91. This means if more than one student is absent, the result is a major loss of funding, which is devastating for our school. It is important to note that attendance towards Average Daily Attendance (our funding) is taken at 9:00 a.m. Students not present at 9:00 do not count for funding purposes. Students coming later than 9:00 do not count for funding purposes. Even if students were at school for first period but left before 9:00, they still do not count toward our Average Daily Attendance. We must have everyone's help.

Please be diligent in:

Talking to families about bringing their students to Priddy ISD where they can benefit from our rich tradition and success

Making every effort to have your student here everyday

Making all appointments, including doctors' and dentists' appointments, at a time when your student can be picked up from school after 9:00

Medical Absence - A student can only be counted in attendance with a doctor's note, if the student attends a portion of the same school day as the appointment.
A doctor's note will not cover a multiple day absence. It only covers the one day of the appointment, if the student attends a portion of the same school day as the appointment.

Priddy ISD's strength is the love this community has for its school. With everyone's committed effort, Priddy ISD will continue to educate all students for success in college, career and community service.
